Empowering people for
the future!
UNDP’s Local Governance Programme (LGP) is an initiative that supports the
Albanian Government’s ongoing process of decentralization and democratization.
Located in the regions of Fier, Gjirokaster and Kukes, LGP is working to build
capacities, improving livelihoods, and ensuring that community needs are linked
to policy and institutional development at the central and local levels.
LGP unites and coordinates a number of projects oriented towards
Millennium Development Goals and in crosscutting areas involving gender,
environment, civil society and advocacy. This coordinated approach provides
maximum support to the local government and citizens, and the most effective use
of recourses.
LGP
collaborates with Ministry of Interior and local government in the regions,
together with international partners such as Norwegian Government, Austrian
Government, European Commission, Soros Foundation, AF Fund, SNV, UN Volunteers,
Regione Lazio and
Western Union
for jointly helping people to build a better future!
